FosterClub All-Star Internship Applications Due Feb 20

The FosterClub All-Star program was founded on the belief that youth who have successfully transitioned from foster care to responsible young adulthood are best suited to impact the transition of their younger peers. Young leaders between the ages of 18-24 who are interested in leveraging their own experience to improve the foster care system are encouraged to apply for this seven-week summer internship. Travel is included, as well as a weekly stipend and an end-of-session stipend of $1500 for each All-Star.

New Judges’ Page: Trauma-Informed Dependency Courts

The Winter 2015 Judges’ Page Newsletter is now available on CASAforChildren.org. This issue contains 12 articles that explain how judges and courts can lead the effort to implement trauma-informed policies, practices and services in dependency court systems.
The issue features pieces by both Mari Kay Bickett, CEO of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges and Michael Piraino, CEO of National CASA. Also read about creating a trauma-informed court, using a web-based tool for understanding trauma, as well as the perspective of a CASA supervisor on the use of a therapy dog to help traumatized children
